7 Ways to Avoid Burnout

June 21, 2024

Life in general is stressful. Unfortunately, working in aged care can be no different. That being said, it is still very rewarding when the stressful elements are addressed in a timely manner. Listed below are just seven ways in which to do this:

1) Reducing the amount of overtime you complete

It is perfectly okay to turn down the offer of extra work

2) Talking to your consultant

At Aktrapid, this would be your friendly recruitment consultant who you generally speak with; we are always ready and willing to listen to your concerns or queries

3) Going on holiday

Every now and then, and if you are feeling overworked, it is perfectly fine to take time off for yourself. Just be sure to inform your consultant!

4) Have an appropriate work-life balance

Refrain from checking work-related emails outside of work time

5) Seek support

Whether it is from a friend or even a counsellor, speak to someone if you ever feel overwhelmed

6) Make time for your hobbies

If you enjoy swimming, reading, going to the gym, or any other recreational activity, set some time aside during the week for it

7) Get plenty of sleep

As simple as it sounds, ensuring you get enough as 6 to 8 hours of sleep each night will do wonders for your health and outlook on life

At Aktrapid, we are always happy to listen to our members and work closely with them. We can be reached on 0396569777 or at info@aktrapid.com.au
